Fishing : - 2 miles from le Fresne the barrage du Vezins has created an enormous lake on the Selune river where course fishing is well catered for. A day ticket is available but a 2 week holiday permit for is better value. On the Lac de Vezins, Pike, Zander and Perch are the target of local fishermen, mainly because they eat them. However other fish such as Carp, Bream and Roach are possible.
Cycling : - For the active the bay of Mont St Michel has 12 veloroutes, of differing degrees of difficulty. We are actually situated on the "circuit des lacs", a mere 22 kms. La Mazure: - 10 min drive. A leisure and water sports activity centre with pedalos, kayaks, canoes and wind surfing and on land tennis, petanque and archery to name but a few. Parc De Loisirs L'Ange Michel : - 15 min drive. With around 30 activities including aquasplash, quadbiking, childrens' amusement park and bumper boats. More information can be found here.
Son et Lumière : - during the summer months on Saturday night a spectacular sound and light show is held: " Les Féeriques de Montgothier". More information can be found here.
Walks : - we are fortunate in having some lovely walks around us: the woods near Ducey, and along the Selune where you’ll spot a red squirrel or two, the waterfalls at Mortain or the disused railway from St.Hilaire-du-Harcouet to Ducey (hopefully to be soon extended to Mont Saint-Michel) which has been converted into a greenway. Horseriding : - Horse trekking in the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel Region : - The region has numerous antique dealers and bric-a-brac (‘brocante’) warehouses, where you can pick up bargains. For a glimpse of local life many of the farms welcome visitors to sample their products, see their free range livestock and learn about the old methods of production still prevalent in the area.
